Ford automatic transmission overdrive and intermediate servo pin bore repair.
VEHICLE SERVICING
When all vehicles are new, they come with a maintenance schedule. Kens Auto Repair is qualilfied to do maintenance on YOUR new vehicle. Just bring in your maintenance schedlule and we will do the rest. All the pertent information is located in there such as oil change intervals, etc.
Did you know, new cars have the first oil change due @ 7,500 miles? Yes, so if you change it too soon, you could be wasting money. But if you like that piece of mind, the OILS today, are much more superior than the '70s or even the '80s. So 3000 miles is not that important. What is important is if gasoline gets in the engine oil, diluting it and making it a thinner viscosity potentially setting up for a spun bearing or bearings.

When you keep going to one place for your automobile service and repair, they get to know your vehicle better. And have a record of past repairs, maintence etc. This helps in the long run when you have issues and can help detect problems sooner. Remember Murphys Law? "Whatever can go wrong, will. At the worst possible time" Prevent this by having Kens Auto Repair/Port City Transmission do all your automotive/RV needs.
WHEELS & SUSPENSION
We do suspension, shocks, stuts etc. We do not do tire mount/dismount; tire/wheel balance; or wheel alignments.
Kens Auto Repar/Port City Transmission is dedicated to safety 100%. So, if you have aluminum rims on your vehicle and they have been on the vehicle for awhile, the flange the wheel bolts up to on the hub is prone to corrosion. When you remove the wheel, and DON'T clean this surface, torquing is NOT going to set things right, The lugnuts will more than likey loosen up, causing the wheel to potentially come OFF of vehicle. I ALWAYS clean this surface area when I remove any wheels with ALUMINUM rims before re-installing and torquing.
No windshield replacements but we can replace door windows, regulators, etc.

TUNE UPS & BRAKES
Engine tune up is very important. When spark plugs and plug wires, if vehice has plug wires, wear out they have a higher resistance and therefore less voltage is getting to the sparkplug which is typically 40k-60k volts. Take that down a bit, and you not only can potentially cause a misfire, but a amount of gas is now being spit out into the exhaust system.
The catalytic converter is designed to burn off the excess fuel that is NOT getting burned from Normal combustion. The converter is NOT designed to take in excess amounts of raw fuel. Just the normal for that particular engine, and when the engine dumps fuel into this catalytic converter, it flashes off and when excessive amounts of fuel are present, can cause the honeycomb in converter to melt, causing restriction and plugging of exhaust in the converter. Tune ups are important. Very important as well as using QUALITY parts. That is where we come in.
Automobile maintenance is a very important aspect in not only keeping your vehicle running in tip top shape, but keeping your automobile from leaving you stranded. Engine oil is important, as is the transmission fluid whether it is a manual transmission, or an automatic. Automatic transmision fluids are typically recommended flushing every 30K miles and @ 90K miles the filter should be replaced for the first time. Go by what the manufacturer suggests in the maintenance schedule. These fluids break down and no longer provide ample lubrication to system and typically varnish up especially in automatic transmissions. Engines have 0.001" to 0.002" of bearing clearance, but transmissions on the otherhand have 0.0005" clearance in the valve body where the shifting controls, valves etc. are located. Therefore, very important to remove varnished fluid because this fluid becomes gritty causing sticky valves etc. No need to elaborate further on tighter clearances on metal and/or aluminum valves in the valve body. Therefore, automatice transmssion maintenance is probalby one of the most important maintenance things you can do to your vehicle.
